upgrade from shure e2c's

what are a good pair of headphones to upgrade from the e2c's that are under 100 dollars?

IMO, the e2s are the top of the $100 list. Quite a few people have been very impressed with the "kramer mod." Search these forums. I did the mod and i found it "livened up" the sound considerably but it didn't end up on par with my e4.

You might get lucky and pick up some used e4 or e5 for a good deal when Shure lets loose of their new products and/or you might get a good deal on westone um2s when the 3's show up.

Goodluck!

i want to buy a pair under 100$ to replace the e2c's. i'm just not happy with them even with the kramer mod.

Choices so far:
JBL 220 reference
V-moda vibes

choices i don't want:
d-jays (too expensive with shipping)
v-moda bass freq (i want a canal phone)

i'm just looking for sound quality and not so much noise isolation.

i feel like the e2c's are really lacking in bass. i listen to rock and rap

The JBL 220s can be had for $30 or $50 if you buy them today. I sold my E2c in favor of them and haven't been disappointed.

I just got the UE Super.fi 3 Live's from Radioshack (same as the regular UE Super.fi 3's just that they're a metallic red color), and so far I feel that the sound is much better than the e2c's. The Super.fi 3's seem to have more clarity, whereas the e2c's seemed a bit muddy.

you cant really upgrade from the e2s for under $100 but if you want to try another sound signiture, you should definetly try the er6is and if you still feel somethings missing with the er6is, try an amp, it livens up the sound considerably

I don't think the amp is necessary, but YMMV.

e2c lacking bass=you're not getting a good fit from them.
They are one of the muddier sounding iems but they definitely do not lack any of the sonical properties of music. I find the bass somewhat too boomy and uncontrolled sometimes.
Anyways, I'm just gonna say VModas for now. I haven't tried them yet but I haven't seen anyone really complaining about it especially on the aesthetics and fit department. I'm sure there are others, but if you can't get a good seal through the e2c, then PROBABLY you won't like other iems. I say stay with canalphones that almost always provide the best fit, anytime.

Good luck
