Isolation measurements of DT250 plus mod to improve same...

Worth a look. It has photos of headphone guts, so it is rated PG13.

There is also a rather enlightening response plot of headphone isolation.

Oh kind and benevolent moderators...

would putting the compound outside the inner enclosure (on the plastic / leather part of the pad, or following the same contours, but just going around the four mounting studs)) help to remove the hump? (in other words, don't make the chaulking "round" - to reduce standing waves and/or plug up some of the pad's standing wave cancellation holes).

likewise, if you did not use the inner pad, would not the midrange open up, with a slight decrease in bass? failing that, how about trying another pad, but with a dime hole cutout over the centre hole for better high end/high-midrange and soundstage?
