The only reason I havent signed up for stuff is cos I dunno how long I will be there. As luck would I have it I have other commitments on 21 and 22. So I'll be there for maybe a couple of hours on Saturday, dunno if I should bring my stuff for that.

You're welcome to take it for a spin. Dusty did not send the cable, but I will shoot him an email and ask if he can ship one.

How is everyone getting their stuff there? Shipping? Or for those of you with just a few pieces, are you packing it in your carry-on?

I can't make it to the meet so I shipped a little something to the FLA crew today to bring with them...

Nate's right - I will be sporting a brand new PSU for the SqueezeBox with me, hand made by the master.

How does this beauty look, boys and girls?

Nate does some very nice work. I bought one of his amps so I know first hand. I wish my SB3 linear power supply looked that good.

Look forward to hearing it......or maybe not hearing it .

updated my original equipment list... it may continue to grow before the meet (i'm hoping i can get into the elite-rig room)

Come on people! i know many big head-fiers are flying over... please bring the biggest things you can... it's not like most of this gear is delicate and can't leave home, audiophile stuff is built for war for a reason...meets!

I'm just on the other side of the San Jose airport in Santa Clara, and if anyone needs to ship stuff here before the meet, it would be no problem for me to deliver it for Friday set-up (which I volunteered for).

I don't know how this is going to sound, but here goes:
I have a manequin torso (head and chest) named Helga that's been needing a new paint job, so I was going to paint it matte black (or maybe a crinkle, cracked, or faux stone finish?). If someone is interested in using it in their display, I would entertain interesting offers in exchange for loaning it out.

That has got to be the strangest second post I have ever seen!

If you want, bring it over to my station and we'll put a pair of headphones on it... but only if it looks nice! =)

Not so strange overall, Neil, but I am at a loss to figure out what kind of offers would be interesting in exchange for loaning out a manequin named Helga?!

By the way Tosh, "Welcome to Head-Fi and sorry about your wallet!" We were behind in giving you the correct greeting, partly because your first post helped volunteer for a meet and your second post had Norman Bates overtones. [Just kidding, of course.]

You are in for a great time and a culture shock at this meet based on your profile. I suggest you hang out in the DIY zone featuring amb and morsel and others so that you can figure out your preferred project for a proper headamp. See you next week, with or without Helga!

See: I knew it might sound odd. But I've seen y'all's appreciation for a good prop, and Helga strikes a tasteful pose with my headphones on. She's had a rough life in the retail industry before meeting me, but I think she'll clean up real nice. The 'interesting offers' part was meant to head off any grody cash offers, as she's not that kind of girl (anymore). Tomorrow she gets a grey primer coat, and then the black hammered finish goes on. Anyone?

Thanks for the welcome, Voltron. I am looking forward to meeting everybody very much! A culture shock, you think? I'd better spice up my profile!

Looks like I'll make it!

Things have really come together in the last 2 weeks and I should have all the gear I was hoping to. I just noticed that you need measurements of large gear though and the reel to reel system I'll have there plus the Zana Deux and laptop will need a good bit of space. I hope it's not too late to get this to you but here goes;
Technics rs1500 19x8"
Preamp 19x14"
tape amp 12x8"
Zana Deux 15x15"
Laptop 11x10"
Power supplies 10x8" & 10x6"
Monster power filter 4x14"
I'll have a demo tape of the Tape Project first releases ( production releases should be available within a monthhttp://www.tapeproject.com
BTW I see that the meet opens at 10am , can we arrive early for set-up?

Hi Remitrom, welcome to Head-fi.

You're welcome to join me at my table. I've reserved quite a bit of space and your amps would be right at home along with all my DIY amps.
