A big catch up here.

Posts #108, 109, 111, 112, 113, 114, 116, 117, 118

Chilliman + Rlanger - I've put you both down for both Saturday and Sunday, as you weren't explicit regarding dates.

It looks like the deadline for signing up for member tables is end of play Thursday in order to take advantage of our unique advanced graphical allocation mechanism (!)

More to be revealed, we'll keep you posted.

Anyone left out there who wants allocated table space, hurry up, and it would help if you have an avatar.

Looking forward to seeing you all.

G.

Quick-release headphone jacks

I will be bringing some samples of quick-release headphone jacks. These jacks provide a controlled and consistent detent force at any angle of pull on the headphone cable to prevent damage to cables, jacks, plugs and audio equipment.

See you there.

Interesting! I'll be looking out for you. I've been thinking about a retrofit for the power plug on a laptop to make it magnetic like on the new Macs.

All Systems Go!

Well my portable network has just passed its acceptance test and I'm good to go. More on this later.

The HeadFest T-Shirt arrived from CafePress, and the latest signed CD from Judie Tzuke made it from the UK, so I'm all set.

The Portable network is based around a Linksys WRT54GL.
The built in switch will provide wired access.
The built in 802.11g will provide wireless access to the network.

Squeezeboxes can connect wired or wireless.
The Nokia 770 can be used as a control device, or a player of streamed mp3.

If anyone else wants to join the network they are welcome, just speak to me.
If anyone has spare Cat5/RJ45 cables + additional 10/100 switches we can use them to grow the network - either that, or a field trip to Fry's may be in order.

See you all at HF2!

It doesn't really matter, but I guess Saturday would be better for me.

NEWSFLASH for my Meet rig - there will be not just one, but two Audio-Technica AD2000s! One of them has over 800 hours on it, the other is brand-new! Stop by if you want to find out if burn-in for the AD2000 exists! Two headphone jacks on both the GS-1 and GS-X can make for instant easy comparos!

And not to take anything away from the super-duper awesome door prizes being generously donated by our venerable vendors, but I will be handing out free stuff at my table - those who don't win a door prize can stop by and score some schwag!

I don't know how this works, but if anymore wants to tap into my lossless iTunes library, feel free. Seems I have over 450 artists and 1000 albums, mostly alternative but there might be something you'll like. Just show me what wireless network to join and whatever else I need to do.

Member table sign up ... Closed -ish

Given that registration is now closed, and registration was one of the pre-conditions for member table sign up, that means member table sign up is now closed-ish.

The Good News is that all of those who signed up for a member table will have a space - we're going to do the allocation of actual tables at the pre-meet setup this evening.

episiarch is printing out larger versions of the badge artwork (name + avatar), and we will use those to designate actual tables. So you'll just have to match your badge to your table(s)

If we have time + resources this evening we may be able to post a map/picture/list of which table is where - but there should be something to help you out at registration.

Big thanks to all of you who took the time in advance to sign up, and for bringing an amazing set of equipment - we are truly lucky - where else would you have the opportunity to experience all this in one location.

And for those of you who can't make it to the meet, hopefully there will be enough pictures, videos and posts so that you can at least get a taste of the event.

I'll be in transit today - so I'm unlikely to update the master lists.
People who really, really want some table space and haven't yet posted, we may be able to make a snapshot/refresh tonight/Saturday morning - we'll try and keep some space - there may be some tables with power outside the meet rooms as overflow - so that if door prize winners want to set up - or people try out purchases from the vendors.

See you there!
