I keep seeing pink noise being recommended for breaking-in phones. Just what is pink noise and how do I get me some?

No problem! There's also some links in there to programs that will create lossless versions of pink noise! I've used it to some extent, and it appears to help...

I sometimes listen to very soft pink noise when I sleep if I don't feel like listening to music but still need something to calm my mind. I also have a theory that it can speed up the mental "burn-in" of adjusting to new equipment by presenting all of the peaks and dips to you steadily, rather than only periodically in the music.

I use Cool Edit Pro 2.1 to make White/Pink/Brown Noise. I think you can do the same with Goldwave.

Great Stuff, that Pink Noise. After only 3 hours, my the bass on my SR-80s feels more defined. I can't wait to hear what they sound like after the big game tommorow!

Does white noise work just as well? And, should the white or pink noise attempt to cover the broadest frequency range?
