Before you watch the video, try to guess how many bullets do you think would be needed from such a weapon to break the katana. A hint: it´s really > 1...

Heh, it's a 12.7 mm machine gun, not 140 mm. I doubt any sword can withstand a hit from one of these:

Woops, I think between all the chinese and/or korean characters at one point I read 140mm somewhere, maybe they were talking about something else or I read wrong, my bad.

Edit: Just checked the link again, for whatever reason "Magnum 140mm" is in the title of the webpage and in the name of the video. No wonder I thought I had read 140mm somewhere Whether the weapon used is a 140mm I really wouldn't know.

I think that's a bit of a contradiction in terms, eh? A bastard sword is pretty much defined as having a handle that's too short to fully fit two hands.

The most deadly sword of all, cast in the depths of the earth, a sword for the ages, unparalleled in all things violent and bloody. A SWORD TO RULE THEM ALL!

The Roman gladius killed more people than any other sword has or will.

For legendary status, though, it has to be Excalibur.

140mm was including the casing, and not the calibre of the bullet

This one beats down the Master Sword. Try again lmilhan.

That said, I've always been partial to medieval swords. They just get right to the point (excuse the pun).

And rapiers are plain works of art. For the king! En garde!

Very odd that it's using OAL instead of the usual caliber, or even caliber x case length. Course, .50 BMG OAL is still only 138 mm.

I would argue the Mongol saber has killed more people than the gladius ever has. Entire countries like Khwarezm were depopulated by the Mongols and their nasty hobby of building pyramids of heads.
