HD580 - HD600 = ...

I have an HD600 and it would be too loud to use in the office. In your experience, do HD580's leak less then HD600's?

HD580's would leak just as much as the HD600's. They are fairly identical headphones with their differences lying in some of the materials and tolerances.

yep - They much the same. If you want less leakage get a closed can pair

I see a HD280 Pro in your future.

No, my boss is a real bitch and I sat right next to her for like 3 weeks. I told her my headphones might be kinda loud. She said dont worry about it. So I brought my hd580's in and played them loud. She never once complained. And she is a bitch so if a bitch doesnt complain then you're golden.

ps: acutally I made her give the 580's a listen at one point and her responce was " Wow, those are really clear".

Lol all over this thread. I believe they'd leak the same amount, though.

I've seen a few posts around here suggesting a DT-250 as something sorta HD-580/600-ish in a closed can...

I have used HD-595s in a work environment for well over 2 years now. Not one complaint has been brought to my attention due to the leakage of my cans. I actually bought the headphones for work, at work (headroom, baby!). If you keep the sound to a normal level (while still being able to hear people talk around you), you will be fine.

Now that I have my own office cubicle, I occasionally crank out the jams 'after hours'. With a go-vibe, the leakage during these times gets to the point where a co-worker across the room has stated he can almost make out lyrics.

If it's not too much of a stretch... HD650? I don't think it leaks sound. When I take it off to see if it leaks, the only direction the sound goes is from the drivers to where your ears would be.
