JVC HP-DX1000 Owners Unite! - Page 141

Acquired a Holographic Audio Ear One. Really good amplifier for the DX 1000. Transparent and absolutely NO added warmth I am impressed how much detail it can extract from them. Particularly regarding the bass. These headphones may be more powerhungry then I thought. Goldpoint Headphone Pro has worked well for me also in the neutral and transparent camp and optimized for low impedance headhpones but it just don´t give the definition and nuances of the bass notes more one note. Neither do the C-2.1 which has quite a beefy trafo. Power ratings on the Ear one may be real. 3W at 32 ohm promised.

But don´t get me wrong it´s still a bassy and very warm headphone. Gonna harrass my neighbours with my LCD-2 tomorrow and see how it fairs. Using Era as benchmark.

Crisis averted.

Did you pick up the 1400 and have any luck with it?

I was hoping they'd fit in a 1200 I had in storage but no luck.

I estimated the DX1000 to measure 10"x8"x5".

The Pelican 1400 has internals dimensions of 11.81"x8.87"x5.18" so it should fit but I was worried it might be a bit too tight a fit to be comfortable with some foam for protection.

I was also looking at the Nanuq 915 with measurements of 13.8"x9.3"x6.2" which would definitely fit but I worried they might rattle around with too much unnecessary space (and foam).

I haven't bought a case yet but I think I'll get this case: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00013J86I/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1 as you can fit in two full-sized headphones in it.

I have to agree, the JVC DX1000 are really amazing with acoustic, especially all the Unplugged series. I really enjoyed the DX1000 with Flyleaf's acoustic "All Around Me".

Bump the gain down some...  Are you talking about the B22?

exactly.

the gain was lowered from 8X to 5X but the source, now, pratically is a preamplifier because the output stage is a jc-2 balanced preamplifier.

when i was the pld beta and old source wasd possible to listen the jvc only at 8-9(max) o´clock.

i´m a little sad because i love the voice and the magic of this headphone.

well...patience...got to he-6 or another hp but my wife was happy with a closed headphonebiggrin.gif(she felt the husband and music at the same time)

You will NEVER find a pair of phones that can give you what the DX1000 does, you can find phones that has the same og better SQ, but the special signature you can forget about..
