I also own both the DX1000 and the D5000, and find both to be extremely comfortable. I also really like both, and they do sound different. I plan on keeping both.

I really dont think i can get enough of these, i find im wearing these more then my old sa5000s.

Im thinking of trying out a w5000 or a d5000 but im not sure, i just think i cant get enough of these woodie cans lol.

Anyone own a ED9? If so, how does it compare?

Quick question...are the pads on these faux (man-made) leather, or are they comprised of skin from some poor animal? A decision hangs in the balance.

Are you serious? You'd really not buy an excellent headphone if the pads were made of animal leather? Maybe it would alleviate your worries if you knew the animal wanted you to enjoy sonic bliss? But honestly, I have no clue.

They are definitely faux leather, although they feel and look amazingly like the real thing.

I just bought JVC HP DX-1000 from Pricejapan,Yes it's Sounnddsss so good....,and im thinking about cable mod so anyone done this before?

As far as I know, no one has cable modded their JVCs. There is always a first and you could be it. By the way what setup do you have?

Bluetin Japan definitely says "lambskin earpads" (bottom of the page)...

Indeed correct although someone here on this forum had rung JVC America and inquired about this very topic only to be told that it is imitation leather.
