Yes these phones just getting better and better everytime they are used, not talking about burnin here, they just gives and gives..

Regarding to the Darths and Denons, well have not heard any of them, so for me the DX1000 is way ahead of them....

here's my broken can pics

;-;

really think I can risk super-glueing that?
Holy....I need to rescale those.
Oh dear, you probably need to order replacement parts from JVC service (check booklet that came with the phone for contact detail). Don't think glue will do nicely...

Well, that is how mine broke. I superglued it back together, and then encased it in silicone caulk, and then put the cover back on. No problem since.

OK, I thought this was off-base when I first read it. I like Emmylou, but mostly for her harmony, not her bass player. But after listening to this today and comparing it to the heavy bass recommendation threads in the music forum (ooooooh Massive Attack etc), I've gotta say that this is awesome on the DX1000s, and it has the additional advantage of being music. A real find.

Infoseeker - thanks for making us aware of DX1000 hinge issue. Going to be very careful with it now cheers!

Considering what this phone costs, you would expect JVC to utilize better and stronger materials all round. This is my main criticism here regards the DX1000.
Just how much do we need to spend in order to get appropriate quality.
JVC should get Sony to manufacture their top tier phones aka R10.

Agree 100%. The whole mechanism should be better.

Anyone have any suggestions or can get me a new headband or the headband-end parts of the HP-DX1000 for me?
Tried to contact the US JVC and begged them to mediate things between me and the Japanese branch. And all I got was:

Quote:
Thank you for contacting JVC Customer Care. I am Steve, your email care specialist. We value you as a JVC customer and appreciate the opportunity to be of assistance.
I understand that you are inquiring about the model HP-DX1000.
Unfortunatly this model is not currently distributed in the U.S. we do not have any information on these headphones. You may however contact the Japan Customer Care dept to better assist you.

I think JVC USA can't help you as they do not offically stock DX1000. If JVC Japan Service doesn't work*, you could try the following.

Maybe you could ask a shop outside US to get you the parts (i.e. order it for you) perhaps? I remember reading on some thread that some guy got dx1000's drivers & cable via a shop, think it is in Thailand or something. Alternatively maybe you could ask the shop where you brought your phone to order the parts for you, I am assuming you got yours from Japan.

Good luck.

*PS. do send them the above photos as well, I am sure you have done that already.

Here's the European version of the DX1000s on their UK site:

HA-DX1000 at JVC

And here's the "contact us" info:

Contact Us at JVC

At least they'd speak English. Or something like it.

Sent them an e-mail; hopefully they'll listen.

Fingers crossed, let's hope JVC UK service will sort you out. Didn't find them very helpful when I ask them where I could get DX1000 in UK, like go ask around shops yourself and good luck lol.... Hopefully their repair department is more helpful.

Im sorry to hear that, another reason I feared a pair of L3000, if they broke i would really be SOL of like 3 grand.

Heres to hoping your DX1K are fixed easily
