Question about recabeling cans

A simple question really... do all cans benefit from recabeling?

I ask this because, it seems like it so cheap for them to skimp on. A quick recable with some Starquad costs all of $15-$25, depending on what connectors, heatshrink, sleaving, ect. you use. It seems like for such a low cost, manufactures would just spend the extra few bucks for the better cable job.

If not all cans benefit, how can you tell which will and which won't?

I'm sure not all cans "benefit" from it, but having a more durable cable with a custom length is the main reason I recable protables KSC75's. Personally, I really like SPC and there is definitely a nice little improvement in SQ as well (on cans I've tried), but I just like having a better cable.

StarQuad is a nice cable and usually it's better than stock, so sure give it a try.

As for the manufacturers doing it themselves, no comment.
