First Impressions:
Well, when I first used these, I used them in the same place I'd expect myself to continue using these, on the go from place to place, and while at places outside the...
I bought these this week from amazon.co.uk for £10 including delivery. That's US $15.
Packaging, appearance, warranty, euro-nanny knows best:
Mine arrived in the small European packaging box,...
Absolutely beautiful little player. It's just a gorgeous chunk of tech that feels good to hold. For me personally tech has to have form as well as function and the AK120 doesn't disappoint on...
I agree w most reviews that these does not warrant the $499 MSRP. (Then rather opt for D5k, D7k).
BUT - at the +-$230 range I got them at (Amazon warehouse) - these are VERY good value for...

i'm a social libertarian, so i agree that that's ridiculous.
of course, Sony is infamous for imposing all sorts of irrational limits on its proprietary technology. that's why the company is going down the tubes in a barrel.
If it hasn't been said already-- think about it a minute. Companies don't impose moral values if it's bad for business. And if they were hurting their business, shareholders should boot the Board and CEO out for irresposnibility.
So why no pornos on the Playstation? The Playstation is primarily a kids product (please don't debate this, it is) that will reside in kids rooms. Sony doesn't want to provide kids with a way to watch pornos in secret. You can see adults throwing fits, congressional investigations, and on and on. Game consoles are always on shaky ground for violent and sexual content of video games. Enabling them to play pornos is one sure way to get Congress to pull the plug altogether.
I'm not sure that's the real intention. Millions of kids have a ps2 and there's plenty of adult content that can be watched on that in secret also. Nobody ever complained about that, so I don't see who would about this
its sonys product let them do what they want. if anything i think the consumers are trying to impose their views in sonys way of business.
We're not complaining cause we're perverts. (I'm not, at least) Sony's been doing everything they can to push blu-ray ahead (i.e. PS3), and now they're actually try commit suicide by disallowing **** on their format. Millions of consumers wanna watch their *****-**** and *****, damnit!
Good, more proprietary crap down the drain. (EIAJ, Beta, minidisc, UMD, SDDS, MMC, ATRAC, and SACD anyone?) Maybe they'll learn their lesson this time and try to get more unified formats instead of these "wars." I've always hated Sony for their nasty little formats. Kind of funny though that the **** industry could sink them for blu-ray, heh.

Well I am not saying that. I am just saying that if people dont like it then dont buy it. Heck I buy Grado and they "impose" their marketing ethics upon me. Its their company, in the end people can moan all they want about how its being run but if sony seriously changes because of **** then I think sony has become way too weak.
More like Sony is going to become weak if they don't change. Seriously, the adult industry is huuuuge. It's growing unbelievably quick, and if Sony keeps the ban then they are going to lose big time. They certainly aren't going to gain anything worthwhile out of this, I can tell you that
Sony, as a company, refuses to "replicate" adult titles on any format. That means Sony won't be using their factories or facilities to make DVDs, UMDs, or Blu-ray discs full of po rn. This isn't new.
However, the Blu-ray alliance isn't against adult titles.
I was set on buying a PS3 because I can get Virtual Fighter 5, Metal Gear Solid 4, and watch Blu Ray movies.
But then I saw on Gamepro.com on the PS3 link that Sony will pull the license on Blu Ray replicator company if they find out they are distributing pornos.
I'm not a super big fan of pornos, but I hate it when companies try to force their moral values on their consumers.
I'm not sure anymore if I will buy a PS3.
What do you guys think?
Well, that just killed the Japanese market for the PS3...
So Sony's purposely trying to replicate the Betamax and VHS thing!
Just like before, Blu-Ray is superior to its competitor in video quality, just like Betamax was better than VHS. However it was VHS' versitility that won it.
So in 20 years it'll be Universal Mega Blu-Ray+ vs. Ultra-DVD.
