Here it is, the all-powerful 1500th post and can I think of a single thing to say? No, of course not! I sit here, hung over from a wild party at some crazy mansion of a "cottage", trying to figure out how to make this one count. Well, hold your breath.
It's a bad feeling, being both overstimulated from too much coffee and bagged like a wet dog in winter having gotten no sleep and kicking the liver around all night. But I digress from my digression.
I suppose I should think of all the stuff that's happened since Head-Fi invaded my life and took over common sense duties. My "spent since Head-Fi" tab is nothing like some folks, but it's certainly hefty and there's no indication that it's going to stop.
Before? iPod and Sony MDR-V500s.
After? Hornet; ALO interconnect; Grado: iGrado, SR60, SR125, SR225 and RS-1; V-Moda Vibes; Sennheiser HD25 and AKG K701. Not to mention a component stereo (Marantz seperates w/ SACD playback, Paradigm bookshelves) and an entry-level Turntable.
Spent since Head-Fi? I convinced myself early it would be better left untracked and forgotten.
Two meets, one of which I hosted, under my belt and I'm looking forward to the next. Managed to get a review into the Full Featured section. A power amp, pre-amp/headamp, DAC, passive crossfeed module, cable tweaks and phonostage are in the works. Maybe by the time I hit 3000?
Gahd, and it feels like it's only just beginning.
To the mods and administrators, thank you. You keep this place running like a well oiled machine and it is your efforts that make it such a unique experience among forums (see: not full of ridiculous trolling and spam). Oh, and thanks for putting up with me (lord knows I have a habit of participating in threads that end up locked)!
To the rest of you, thanks are in order too. There are some great folks on this forum and it's your insightful posts and chatter that make Head-fi such a great place to put off chores and generally ignore life's nagging little "necessities".
Now, if you will excuse me, I have a little matter to discuss with Jude. Namely, my burled oak, n00b pwning scepter of damnation - and I'll take my robes extra long, thank you very much!
