dw6928 mentioned that his amp didn't sound different after the usual burn-in period. In my experience the electrochemical changes in signal capacitors cause the audible burn in change in solid-state electronics. I went and checked out the xenos website, and they don't use any caps to couple the different buffer/amp sections. so (in my opinion) there shouldn't be any noticable burn-in with this amp. also means that if the amp does sound good, they'd have to use some pretty accurate impedance matching between stages.

10 hours burn in, and no real change in sound so far. Sound quality is VERY good. How good, you ask? Look what I just listed for sale in the Amp FS forum

I am delighted to have another positive perspective on this amp. It was getting
kind of lonely out there.

Most impressive, and at less than half the price.

would I lead you astray?

tell me more . . . tell me more . . . did she put up a fight . . .

OUT of my head John Travolta :P

Of course not, Wayne. But you gotta admit that Skylab putting one of his higher-priced lovlies on the block in favor of the Xenos is a most compelling argument.

Not that I'll be replacing my Go-Vibe anytime soon. I still have to roll a few op-amps! Nonetheless, it's nice to know what the next step might be.

I think Skylab's sale is the best testimony yet!

I am NOT prepared to say, yet, that the 1HA is better than the PRII. What I am saying is that it is so good I don't need a zillion top-shelf portable amps around here. And the 1HA is very, very good, IMO.

So...how does it compare to the home amps, like the Headfive? What headphones were you using with it?

Three weeks, and I still haven't decided what amp to buy.

No time to compare them yet, but I will...

Any place to buy the replacement ion battery when xenos is dead and the amp is still living? Is the amp easy to reassemble and replace the battery?

Any further impressions of the amp? I'm thinking of getting one, although the last thing I need is another amp!
