One bit of news on the 1HA-EPC is that it is now shipping with lower gain which should address some of the minor noise issues discussed in this thread. Mine ships tomorrow and I'll try and post my thoughts.

The lower gain version is one of the various recommendations I made to Alberto. I am glad they have incorporated already.

do you think Xenos will do anything for those of us who received the first round of 1HA-EPC that do not have this low gain addition? it would be the right thing for Xenos to do, even if there was a small manufacturing cost to make the change.

"We can upgrade your existing X1HA-EPC amp to the new gain settings free of charge, shipping extra."

thats a direct quote from alberto's post at the manufacturers corner. good CS i'd say

As far as portability I think the EPC is a bit on the heavy side and because of that I've ordered a tomahawk to play with(it's actually for the wife but i'll try it!) and should have that tomorrow. If it's equivalent with the EPC I'll probably get that instead for myself as well.

The battery life on the EPC is great. I've used it quite a bit since I got it last week and I haven't charged it yet. I think today I may finally plug it in again.

On sound, vs the bithead it offers a lot more bass extension and overall offers an excellent, detailed, crisp clear sound. It's also hiss-free where as the bithead has some noise but nothing terrible. Suffice to say, I'm very happy with the sound the epc cranks out.

The EPC seems very powerful. Much more so than the bithead. I feel like it's perhaps overkill for IEM. I barely turn up the volume when using IEM or even my hd595. It certainly seems like it's very versatile and will be able to power pretty much any headphone you toss at it with ease.

In summary, I had an excellent time listening to Massive Attack - Mezzanine today on the xenos and e500 coming to work today!
Thanks I was looking for this comparison and it looks like EPC is exactly the amp I need for my yet to arrive 770pro 80ohm.

I just ordered mine. How long approximately does it take to ship to Australia? Someone from Italy waited for his amp for more than 3 weeks. I am also waiting for DT770pro 80. Hopefully they'll arrive before the amp . Oh I can't wait. Hopefully this combo will satisfy my basshead ears and I'll post my impressions.

LOL, the funny thing is, that person NO LONGER OWNS ANY OF THOSE ITEMS! In a span of 3 months he changed gear, oh, about 2,000 times! Ask him now about his opinion of that setup... hehe.. (I witnessed it first hand).

Well I am sure he has found a setup that sounds much better, but for my first semi-decent setup Xenos should be fine. Its only the start of a journey for me

What I am saying is DONT quote him or go by his words. He went through a lot of changes to get to where he is now, and it's not even close to what he posted in that thread. Caveat!

Heh ok I get it. I still hope this is true though

Oh yeah, the epc is definitely a cut above the headroom amp!! It's changed somewhat too, I had the original version, and it sounded good, but gave me problems with my e500s (amp hiss), I believe that's been fixed in the latest version. Overall (excluding size) it's a nice portable!!
