HK 3480: Good reciver?

Bought this before head-fi. this is just for my room. wondering if it was a quality purchase.

i think that is the 80w stereo receiver, i almost bought it for my lower priority 2nd setup too. i never heard it, but i heard its 'alright'.

how good it is to you is going to be base on your comparision with other gears and how you differentiate the differences.

It's often highly-reviewed for having gobs of clean power. The 3480 was one of my considerations when looking for an integrated amplifier, though I've never had the opportunity to hear one.

I have one powering my B&W Matrix 3E floorstanding speakers for CD playing and movie watching. It sounds pretty damn good on the speakers, though the speakers could take more power. I havent compared it to a real pre/amp setup like the speakers probably deserve, but im on a college budget for now hehe. As that review states dont use the vmax setting, it sounds really muddy and terrible

I also got it for $250 from amazon.
