DAC with digital out and line in?

I was wondering if anyone knew of a chip that will do USB line out, line in and digital out? Im not sure any of the TI USB D/A will also do line in so it will probably have to be a 2 chip solution.

I don't get it, Digital-Analog converter, I can't see how it's possible for a DAC in itself to digital out. As in digital out do you mean just bypassing the chip or possible changing the standard or different sampling or something ?

Some (but not all) USB DAC chips have a digital out. The PCM2702E chip does not have a digital out pin however the PCM2704 does (pin 5). The signal simply bypass the DAC stage inside the chip to get the digital out. It still has to go through all the USB conversion stages however. The signal that comes out of the usb port is not a pure digital audio signal that you can use! I have really simplified things here so if you need more specific and technical info on how this is achieved than I can recommened some decent electrical engineering departments...

im pretty sure that what you are looking for is usually handled by several chips, and a CPU.
