Help Finding Optical Cable: mini to Toslink

Thread Starter
Hi all. I currently have an Edirol UA-1EX USB interface and my Musiland MD10 DAC is on its way. The Edirol has mini plug optical out and I need to connect it to the MD10's Toslink input. I am trying to find a good quality, well-priced cable in a mini to Toslink config (as I do not want to use a regular optical cable with a mini-to-Toslink adapter).

I am not sure if there are any made from glass (which I believe is the highest quality) other than the Van Den Hul Optocoupler - which is also very expensive. I have come across a few, including the SysConcept Mini To Toslink Premium Optical Cable (around $15) and the monoPrice Mini to Toslink Cable. The monoPrice one is only around $5 - is this an indication that it is inferior to the one from SysConcept? (Both are 5mm). Are there any others you could suggest?

Cheers,
X

I am waiting on a similar cable to be delivered from RAM Electronics....about $20 USD for 3M.
