Wow.. a 'cheap' headphone amp that brings the HD650 to Omega II & ES-1 level? - Page 3

Dang...you're not making it easy to resist spending more money.

I really wish Justin would permanently offer the black G-lite...especially without the DPS. Not enough audiofunds to afford the complete package right now.

It was always made to be used with a PSU on it, I think. The problem with it is that it is so flexible people can use it without that option. Which of course when any unit is configured in a less than optimum manner; less than stellar performances will be the result.

I suspect the blackness of the amp with its little red pilot light adds some body to the sound... the silver version just looks clean and sterile... this looks dark and seductive... that must be it
oh be fair, akwok usually waits at least 2 weeks to sell things after his glowing review, with the exception of the storm...

Yup, cause I upgrade to better things.

I don't think I'll be selling this off though. Keep an eye out for me, buddy!

Both the silver and the black versions of the amp have the same internals, obviously!

So if people want to try the sound I'm getting, just buy a used silver one with DPS on the forums if you wish -- I have nothing to profit here (and for what? a measly fifty bucks? Considering my main rig is well over $10k now..)

I will resist comment on what's considered to be "better". But I'm glad that you've found something that works for you, even if has been for only (2) weeks.

And there's also a 30 day refund policy I can still take into affect, so why would I want to 'hype' up anything for my own benefit?

Yes, because I strongly believe I can resell the amplifier after this for more than you can buy direct from Justin! Awesome!

Ohhh! That was nice looking amp.. gz

How weird is this? I'm reading the review of the Gilmore Lite with DPS and the mail guy knocks at the door and hands me a package from... Headamp.

Woohoo!

It's a Gilmore Lite, with DPS

I'm gonna let it warm up a bit before i plug it in, it was obviously on the mail van all day, cos when I opened the boxes the amp was too cold to hold for long.

Isn't this black G-Lite w/ DPS limited edition (Like, only ~10 or so EVER built?)? Do you think it's going to be hard to get one after they all sell out (Or have they already?)?

You are correct. The production run is limited to 15. I do not know if they have sold out yet.
