Well, that's because it's got nothing to do with ''hip hop'' mate :)

Cool, I just thought her music was in between Jazz, Soul and Hip Hop. Then again I prefer the jazzy and soulful side of Hip Hop...

Erykah Badu has done collaborations with various Hip-Hop groups (most notably The Roots), but her solo music would be defined as R&B or Neo Soul.

$.02…Erykah's New Amerykah Part One (4th World War) had better beats on it than a lot of hip-hop discs released that year (2008). Her lyrics suffered a bit, though.

Great video from Kno's most recent album:

There are very few white rappers that can pull it off, but this guy's the real deal.  His album 'Death is Silent' is one of the best hip-hop albums to hit the shelves in years.

As much as I'm sure it is viewed as polarizing, I believe that the new Kanye West album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is excellent; been in heavy rotation for me.

Agreed.  If he wasn't such a tool, he'd be one of my favorite producers.  As a rapper, he's OK, but the man's got skills as a producer.

One of my favorite bands is actually a local band from Greensboro, North Carolina called The Urban Sophisticates.

Here is their myspace page... http://www.myspace.com/urbansophisticates

I feel I must suggest lil wayne even if I get slated for doing so...only started listening to him recently but he has such a diverse catalogue of songs and is so bloody talented...

Maybe not a musician in the traditional sense but I think it would be a loss to overlook him

Yeah I agree on the auto tune thing, but "Got Money" always makes me smile cool.gif. And I love "A Milli"

Love the Kanye at the end haha.  I love Kno's beats but none of the rappers from CunninLynguists really do it for me after a few listens.
