hip-hop/rap isn't about recording quality and instrument focus, you're right.

its about lyrics, delivery and rhythm which some people can't relate to, but that doesn't mean it isn't music.

true, a lot of the stuff released is crap (but what genre isn't like this), but stuff like J5 2pac etc. is very good.
