I also spoke with Joe Grado and he said he can replace the RS-1 drivers in the ebay pair with HP1000 drivers. He also said he would check the cable and if there are any issues with that he can replace it as well. The whole treatment will cost me some more money but not too much considering this will make them HP-2s again.

Anyone interested in an HP-2 for a fair price should be keeping a close eye on the FS forum in the next week or two. I don't think I will be needing 2 pairs of these great headphones and would rather pass one on to someone else in the Head-Fi community who really wants a pair

Anyway, thanks again for all of the info, help and support! I am very happy to be a part of such a great community!

Just dont hamper with them until the problem with seller is settled. But because you now have means to fix them, perhaps you can get a price reduction from the seller.

Congratulations to you and hats off to Joe and John for helping you out of your dilemma! Being class-acts seems to be running in the Grado family!

I agree with MaZa. The eBay seller is a fraud and should be held accountable for what he's been pulling multiple times. I don't know what the other head-fiers did to recoup their money, but if paypal stepped in on most occasions, they are probably down by 4-5 grand just from this one seller. I have been threatened by "vengeance feedback" before, even physical violence and stuff like that, when I complained to a seller about an item that never showed up. In the end, you tend not to bother with people like these and leave it alone, especially if you yourself have a fairly low feedback number and a single bad feedback will set you back a fair percentage. But looking at the larger picture, your seller is a criminal, no matter how much credit we'd like to give him, and he's going to pull this trick again, most likely on another, unassuming head-fier.
