I'm not sure how easy it would be to locate a set of HP1000 drivers. I have already filed a dispute and claim and am waiting to hear the outcome. I have been in contact with the seller as well and no surprise here, he is not willing to issue a refund.
I have made both ebay and paypal aware of the situation. I contacted ebay to try to change the feedback I had previously left but they informed me they cannot change it from positive to negative. I updated the feedback to notify people of the situation but it will still count as another positive feedback for the seller despite the fact that ebay is on notice of the situation

On a brighter note, I spoke with the woman from Grado today and she informed that if I do end up getting stuck with the HPs with the bad RS-1 driver she would replace the bad driver for me for free. Now that's some customer service

I'm even more of a Grado fan than I was before. Not only do they produce some excellent headphones, they seem to really care about people who buy their products, even second hand.
I'm still looking forward to getting the real deal HP-2s from cantsleep which should be here tomorrow. I'm very excited about it after this whole mess. I think I'll stick with trying to deal exclusively with solid head-fiers in the future now that I have gone through this experience with ebay.
I didn't even think to be concerned about a seller with over 400 positive feedbacks. The worst part is that in my most recent correspondence with him, he is insisting that there is no way he would do anything wrong...he actually told me to just look at all of his feedback

Anyway, getting the HP-2s tomorrow should help to take my mind off this situation.
