sr60+bowls=sr80? sr60 with comfies and bowls - difference

I'd like to ask if anyone knows the difference between grado sr60 with bowls and sr80 with bowls (or maybe someone listened to and prefered sr80 with comfies?) I consider buying bowls to my sr60, in what way it will change the sound ( bass, soundstage, warmth?)? I like warmth of the comfies and I'd like to keep them, I also have hd414 pads but they seem to be a bit muffled, reversed modded hd414 are airy but bass is lacking. What should I expect from bowls after a half of a year comfies use.
Are bowls really worth a try or it would be better to sell sr60 and go straight to sr80 or ms1? (I stress only for portable use on my iriver).

I like bowls on my SR60.... but not for portable use. Bowl pads open up the soundstage, add air to bass and treble, if anything they decrease the bass. They un-conjest the mids too.

IMHO comfies are better portably, it brings the image and sound into your head more, adds bass and is a more intimate kind of sound.

well a bit strange... in many opinions is said that sr80 has better bass response , and that sr60+bowls are 95% of sr80 so I expected sr60+bowls to be more or less sr80 (with better soundstage and bass)...so it seems sr80 are just...better headphones, or is anyone out there who prefers sr60 as a "portables" (or used at home) ?

I wonder how much of the traditional assumption that the SR80 has a better bass reponse than the SR60 is not from personal experience, but rather statements made on the gradolabs website, and other websites selling the SR80s.

I mean, if people can buy the SR60s and then just order the bowls at a cheaper price, it's understandable that retailers would try to persuade you into purchasing the SR80s by alluring you with "better bass response".

Almost everyone who has actually tried both the SR60s and the SR80s with bowls has hardly noticed a difference.
