So that doesn't include the 5.5g ipod, but does include every ipod made after it(example: 6g, 7g) and also most of the iphones and ipod touches. With the idevice compatible dacs, you don't need anything else to pair them with to bypass the internal dac. All you do it plug one end into the iphone/ipod dock connector and the other end into the usb connector on the device.

Totally understand now. I inferred as much, but didn't know for sure. Thanks for the clarification.
I have an iPhone 4, may need to try out that m8 at some point. In the meantime, will enjoy the iMod.

Doing an AT taste test this week with it, m50, esw9, w1000x, and w5000. Will prob keep 2 of them. (In the process of returning the w5000 due to creaking), may end up with the esw9 and w1000, I have a feeling. The m50 is kinda neat so far with heavy music and I like closed phones. smily_headphones1.gif

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with what you have now. And for portability, it's great. Happy listening!!

Don't know anything about imod, but my 5g mod (with direct out to the lod pins, thanks to my friend Craig) sounds damn good and distinctively better than the stock ipods. The classic 7G also sounds excellent with the lod but I still prefer the 5g mod. I think that's what people call CD quality audio.

I concur. I have the 5.5.g imod and it sound fantastic. I find it incredibly amusing how people still compare the imod against the HM801. The hifiman 801 is a piece of junk. The imod performs better than the hm801 in pretty much every relevant spec. Especially the frequency response of the imod is much better than the epic treble roll off in the hm801....
