Digital Vinyl: Verbatim "45s" CDR

I figured someone would have posted this by now, but Verbatim is making CDR media that looks like a 45 on the label side. Even has grooves.

I find it interesting that these are marketed as DATA CDRs and not AUDIO CDRs with the 'taxed-by-riaa' code so you can use them in component recorders.

Would still be fun conversation pieces.

just what is the difference between "data" cd-rs and "audio" cd-rs? Can data cd-rs not be used with component recorders?

Also, I guess these would go well with that Yamaha disc burner that can burn labels onto your cd-rs.

Data cdr's are for pc's, their dirt cheap because they dont have to pay the RIAA royalties. Audio cdr's are for standalone burners, they cost more because part of the price covers the royalties that are paid to the RIAA.

Bumping the dinosaur thread! lol

Got a 100 of these - it's pretty cool to look at but I found out couple days ago they weren't the best that I could have gotten for the money. It's made in India and further research showed it is made by Moser Baer! Dunno what that means lol but it's no TY I guess.

Still cool looking nevertheless biggrin.gif
