Creative Zen Vision:M or iPod 30GB - Page 2

I would say ipod BECAUSE of iTunes. Great software. It's not just for buying music. I never do. And gapless is the bomb. HOWEVER most people agree that you should use an ipod or nano with a lineout to an amp to fully appreciate the sound. If you want to go ampless, go Zen.

I never care to look at something on a screen so small but if you do and decide to go ipod you might want to wait a bit. There are strong rumors of a new one around the corner with a much bigger screen than the current ones.

AND, and this may be an important "and" depending on how/where you intend to use your player, iPod is vastly superior to ZVM for stock factory automotive stereo integration. You can not integrate a ZVM with a stock factory automotive stereo. You can only use a ZVM as a free-standing audio source. You need the ZVM screen and controls. An iPod can fully integrate into many factory automotive stereos so you can use the stereo screen and controls, as well as steering wheel controls, to control the iPod and read what is on the iPod screen. If you want to use the player as a consistent in-car source, the iPod wins hands down.

This is true, though I'd chalk it down under accessory availability.

Then again, I doubt an automotive sounds like an accessory for a digital audio player..

To me, the only superiority the ipod has is Rockbox. I am sorry the creative is not supported (yet).
