Okay, folks, in the last major forum software update, one of the changes that occurred was that PM e-mail notifications now contain the text of the PM that you're being notified about. While (in my opinion) an awesome feature (because it lets me read my PM's easily via my phone, for example), it is causing some confusion, so I'm going to attempt to clear it up here.
Some of you apparently think, upon reading the text of these PM's in your e-mail, that the message was an e-mail message. Then, wishing to respond to that message, you hit "reply." The thing is is that my e-mail address is the reply-to address of system-generated e-mails like that. Long story short: Your intended recipient is not receiving your response--I am. So here's the dealio:
Please do not hit "reply" in response to your PM e-mail notifications. Read the e-mail's title to make sure it's not a PM notification before you decide to respond to it. If it is a PM notification, and you wish to respond to it, you either have to respond to the person via e-mail (by manually entering in that person's e-mail address, if you have it), or via PM in Head-Fi.
Again, if you simply hit "reply" to a PM e-mail notification, the only person receiving that response is me.
Thanks, everyone.
Best Regards,
Jude
