ok, so i just bought brand new RS-1's off ebay in england. I was quite adamant to have them brand new. Paid £500 overall, which sounds expensive to an american i am sure, but here in england, that is £250 off retail. I just hope it goes smoothly, spending that much money on ebay. I am slightly nervous. What can i do to protect myself from scam, if it ends up being a conn? I paid via paypal. In the past when i was scammed via ebay buying these collectible figures, i got some money back from paypal, using their dispute things, but i think they only get you back up to $100 or something. Is thwere a better way to recoup the whole lot, if that situation arises?

I've had this card for quite a while now, and I have to say its a really nice card - a huge step-up to my on-board motherboard's audio. At first I do have to admit, it didn't feel like the D1...

Long story short: These earbuds, shouldn't ever be bought, when they come free in your iPod package, its fine to look at them, and try them on. If you know someone wanting to buy these,...

I think if you pay with credit card, you are more protected against scams. If the person you bought it from had lots of good feedback you should be fine.

If you bought from a reputable seller with good feedback then I wouldn't worry about anything.
Congrats! It's a great headphone and I'm sure you'll like it.

the seller has 559 feedback (99.6% positive), does this sound reasonable?
according to t couple of his recent feedbacks, he has sold some other brnad new grados and received positive feedback. I should be ok right?

Well, you are a lucky Git!!!!
first off with 550+ sales and 99.6% rating you are laffing no problems there.
yuou will deffo get your rs1's..
2nd, i today went and listened to basically all the can's they sell in helsinki.
Grado-60/80/125/225/325/rs1,2/GS1k
senns-595/600/650
AKG-271/501/601
and several Beyers, that arent worth mentioning.
i listened to the majority of them with "The Meltdown" jazz compilation, a bit of rock and some "Glitch" music..
I own 701's myself so i was blown away by how poop they are next to the grado's, ive been avoiding grado's for the last few months, just somthing about them.
But this forum is rooted if you are trying to save cash..
to get to the point i ended up falling in love with the RS-1's for me they outshined all of the above mentioned Can's.. by a long shot..
i managed to haggle one of the shops down to 875€/u.s. $930 or 500+£.
after much haggling i went to visit my wife at work to ask (why i bothered to ask I DO NOT KNOW.) if i could spend my cash on them, she diddnt have to bother with xmas or my birthday present HA!!
yer well the answer was "Get Bent"..
so i ended up settling for what next sounded the best to me.
just because i need to spend cash if i have it on me.
settled for the sr325's..
Im very happy with these.. ive actually stashed away my 701's and are trying to decide weather or not to let them go so i can think more about the RS-1's...
anyway. you are going to love them.. lucky GIT...=)
p.s. if when they arrive, you dont get tail sap from them i will gladly buy them of you for a fraction of the price you paid..=P

you should be OK.
One thing to note though, Grado "typically" doesn't see ebay sellers as an "authorized grado retailer", so the 1- year warranty is void. Shouldn't be a big deal, however RS1 cosmetic quality is known to be hit or miss, and inconsistent at times.
