Heh. I've actually gone the opposite way. I'm getting rid of my HD650 and am balancing my W5000.

yeah my balanced HD650's ended up disappointing me,
stupid veil,
how's the fit with the W5000's for you guys?

I sold my Raptor, and now listen to balanced HD800 and newly balanced W5000 via an Apache amplifier.

Between the balancing, new amp and new DAC, the W5000 are very exciting cans now.

Recommendation for portable amp for w5000? I do have a diff thread going but think this is the perfect place to ask this question. Maybe it just won't work well?

May try a Leckerton UHA-4, not sure what the w5k will sound like, but only 1 way to find out.

W5000's arrive tomorrow. Bought an RSA P51 Mustang and a Redwine iMod today. (80GB G5) Can't wait to see what it all sounds like. Lining up my flacs for Rockbox and getting my ears ready.

W5000 sounded really nice with the p51, unfortunately the phones creaked when I moved my jaw or head slightly. Could not get it to stop so exchanging for the w1000's. I have read others who experienced this issue...bummer. Really liked them, hope to like the w1000.
