you two are high class riff raff while I on the other hand am low road riff raff!! Vickie you are equal parts riff and raff so you are alright. I hope you are actually considering attending. Gene, Mike and I may need your "voice of reason" during our pre meet activities in SF and Berkeley. It could get ugly

We haven't locked in the discount rates but here is the deal I think we will get. I will confirm in the next two days, but the hotel rates should be discounted to around $89 per night at the Radisson and around $59 per night at the Best Western. They may go down further (especially BW), but I don't think they will go up. That is a generous discount and a really affordable accommodation for the Bay Area.

If I actually make it, it will be in open defiance of reason, so expect no moderating influence from me! I will, however, take pics. I signed up because ya never know, and more importantly, South Florida has to represent!

I'm trying to figure a way to get up there, as well. Getting gear to San Jose means I have to drive. No way I'd be allowed to carry this stuff on and I'm *not* going to check anything valuable. So I'm still waiting to see how a few things shake out at work to determine if I have the time for a road trip. I really want to be there, though.

You may want to consider shipping gear to whatever hotel you are staying at or someone that lives local. I did both for the NYC National Meet and it worked out great. I was also able to bring some of the smaller items on a backpack.

there may be some over the top arm twisting and peer pressure from your fellow SoFlo crew members.

C'mon don't you want to wear the SoFlo Headfi "sorry we don't know any better" and "shut up listen and drink your beer" t-shirt?

What time do the festivities end on Sunday? I am looking at airline flights and want to plan accordingly so that I don't miss out on any of the fun.

We have not set a hard stop for the Sunday meet, although I am assuming it will be around 4pm to allow break-down and clean-up. We will post up an agenda as we go along, but an evening flight to SoCal would allow you to participate in the fun.

Official Head-Fi Room Rates for Int'l Meet

The room rates are now set for the Sleestack hotels, and Head-Fi members, vendors and guests can reserve rooms starting at 12:00 p.m. tomorrow, January 31, at both the Radisson San Jose Airport and the Best Western. The rates are going to be a MAXIMUM of $89 per night at the Radisson and $69 per night at the Best Western, and depending on a couple of factors Sleestack may be able to LOWER the rates as we get closer to the event. The primary way we can get the rates lower is by having a large number of bookings for the Head-Fi event, which is how you will identify yourselves when you make reservations.

Posted rates on the Radisson site may change or they may be limited in number. If you are able to get better rates at these hotels through third-party sites or memberships you might have, then congratulations. But, for those identifying themselves as part of the Head-Fi event, you will pay the maximum stated above and may pay less. Sleestack did his best to keep these rates down, and they are really quite excellent especially considering many rooms can be shared.

Here is the the contact and address information for both hotels:
