Just to completely derail this thread, you're definitely mishearing the word exobitant. I spend a lot of time in the maritimes, my whole family's from there. Also, I'm pretty sure the new Tool album isn't out on vinyl yet.

just to chime in that my lateralus vinyl does indeed sound terrible. i think this is more of a result of the fact that its a picture disk than anything else.
nevermind, at least its pretty.

Hmm, I was actually considering buying the Lateralus pic disc since a local store has it in stock but after reading about the sound quality issues, I think I'll skip this one on vinyl and just wait for 10000 days to be released on vinyl.

i know this is a old thread but if any of you are still looking for this vinyl you can pick it up on aural from time to time for $34. Tool - 10,000 Days - Limited edition colored vinyl Double LP :: Aural Exploits.

some people are saying its a bootleg but i have a copy and it looks legit to me. as it reads on the sleeve, "2006 tool dissectional/volcano entertainment. printed in the united states. for promotional use only."

you can also pick up aenima from aural for the same price. link to that Tool - Aenima - Limited edition colored vinyl Double LP :: Aural Exploits

if you really want a copy of these, just keep checking often. when they do go up they dont last for very long. they are colored vinyl which kind of sucks, each new batch they release seem to be a different color and rumor has it that there is only 1000 of each color, but who knows?

Wasn't there an SACD of this one as well?

I know this is a super old thread, but I turned up here via Google so it might be a good idea to clarify all of this.

10,000 days has not been released on vinyl and anything you see is a bootleg/fake. Do not buy it. Aenima was only released on black vinyl, all colored versions are bootleg/fake. Do not buy them.

Refer to http://toolvinyl.com/fake-tool-vinyl-guide/ for specifics on each release.

Yeah, they definitely gave into something. That's for sure. To me 10,000 Days is a generic representation of what Tool is. They really went for a more mainstream, poppy sound. That isn't necessarily a bad thing but it really feels like they were trying to appeal to the masses even moreso. Apparently, they are working on something right now. I am afraid of what it will be like.

I actually like 10,000 days quite a bit, even though its not quite as good as the other three albums, its still something I'd rank over 1000's of other albums I listen to on a regular basis. I would pick up the LP if it was a reasonable price. Lots of recent LP releases have been slightly dissapointing though, its a tough call to pick and choose the ones that are a definite improvement over the CD.
