price japan's shipping: EMS vs. DHL?

Ugh...I really want to buy a pair of ATH-AD2000 headphones--but pricing them out with shipping is coming out to $540 if I use the "highly recommended" DHL shipping. It's $40 cheaper to go EMS shipping--making the phones the even $500 I thought I'd be paying.

I know others have ordered from price japan--did you use the "recommended" DHL or EMS?

I have purchased 100+ tubes from Japan always useing EMS. They came safe and sound but took 1-1.5 weeks.

DHL Express (make sure it is the full service not the one that drops to USPS once it hits the US) shipped me my CD player in 2 days. 2 days from China!!!!!!
I used DHL Express to return my player for mods to Shanling, 5 days (got stuck in HK), when they shipped it back...3 days. Incredible service plus no horrid brokerage fee like UPS/FedEX.

Either way you would be safe. It all comes down to patience

EMS is a great $$$$$$ saver. I have gotten $1000 japanese knives shipped through EMS never a problem, in fact Ive recieved items from japan in as little as 3 buisness days, no joke. They even delivered on THANKSGIVING.

If you want insurance however, thats another story. All EMS packages are tracked as they move through the system so if its lost the shipper will know about it and can make a claim.

I can't say about pricejapan, but when shipping things from Japan I always pick EMS because of it's ungodly speed. It usually gets to me in 2 days in perfect condition.

It most likely would if they have them in stock.

EMS to Canada is about 3000-6000YEN in japan. I have headphone, headamp, cable that were shipped from there by my friends.

I think DHL will cost much higher but sometimes company has a business account that makes the cost lower than personal.

I got my W5000's from japan via EMS, and they came in two days. No complaints whatsoever. I'd certainly save nearly 10% on your purchase by going that way. Not to mention, the only time I've received a DHL package, the guy drove up to our house in a 15+ year old beater minivan, and came up slovenly dressed and reeking of alcohol. I wasn't sure what the hell was going on, until I noticed he was holding a package with that distinctive color scheme.

LOL!!!!

My personal experience (not through pricejapan) is that DHL (2 business days) is much quicker than EMS (4 business days). However, I'm in the UK so it really hasn't got much relevance to you

EMS

EMS has been very good for me.

I have ordered countless products from China and I always request EMS.

Many items arrive faster than it takes to update the tracking system, most have taken 2-5 business days. Sometimes items are delayed due to random customs inspections, but only delayed by a day or two.

EMS has been faster than FEDX ground in most cases for me. One item I got was delivered by the US Post Office on a Sunday and took a total of 2 days to ship from China.

I personally chose EMS from PriceJapan when ordering the W5000. I ordered it Friday and package arrived first thing Monday morning in perfect condition. I believe DHL will handle all customs nuisances should any arise.

I bought a pair of A900 LTD's from pricejapan and had them shipped to me by EMS. They arrived at my door steps in excellent condition and within 3 days.
