Basically, tell us what got you started and what got you to where you are now.
I actually got into head-fi because of Bose (!!!). I had always been fascinated by those 3-2-1 system things at Best Buy, not to mention the oh, so cool QuietComfort 2s. I looked them up on eBay, read up what little I could about them, and somehow fell upon Shure's website. By that time I had already passed through at least half a dozen earphones, from iBuds to those nifty things that loop around your ear to the ones that fold up (namely, all the earphones you could grab at the BB checkout) on my crap PCDP. Then lucky me, my dad got me a Zen Nano Plus, which allowed me to run through another marathon of earbuds. Then came the glorious day I found Shure's website. I looked up the sweetness that is the E series, and fortunate me, I got a pair of E2s from my friend who worked at BB (can you tell where I like to be?) I didn't know much about Shure other than they made microphones, but all I know is that I had never heard such a huge amount of detail out of such a small piece of equipment before. Sure, the E2s aren't very high on the audiophile's Christmas Wishlist, but the seal coupled with the awesomeness of the driver I picked up a lot of details I never knew was present.
One unfortunate July this past summer, I fell onto head-fi and bought a brand-new pair of SR60s. I read reviews and threads day and night and posted a little. My friend sold me a Creative ZVM for really cheap, I picked up a PA2V2, and before I knew it, I found a nearby audio store and then planned a head-fi meet. Currently I'm only down about $700CAD, but I can expect a future brighter than a pair of 325is.
