yes mx 50 will be too quiet if you listen to that loud ( which you shouldnt :P )

i have the mx51 ... the bass is very good , treble a bit less but the balance seems perfect to me... the only problem as mentioned is 64 ohm impedance ... if you have a player with loud output , then buy it.

*groans* who cares about loudness. This is Head-Fi; SQ comes first!

Yes, until you go deaf, then SQ wont matter no more.

MX50 is on the site, under the streey section.

And ive decided to buy them anyway, ive got a New 30GB iPod coming which is more powerful than the mini, so hopefully the MX50s be loud enough with my new iPod.

The mx50 has a soft earpiece for better fit i think...

Ah yes, it's not on the Senn USA site, but it's on the UK site.

Nope, both have "elastic material" but MX51 comes in a carrying case and MX50 does not. Both should have the same sound but the MX50 is directed more at iPod users.

Do you use the mx51 amped or unamped?

Also, has any used the mx51/50 and the mx400 and can offer comparisons?
Thanks
