What is the thinnest portable amp out there? - Page 3

Oh! Neck pain just woke me up and while scanning forums I saw that there's a new post in the Members of the Trade Sponsored Threads Forum as of 1:24am this morning (late last night) that the low-profile MiniBox-D amp is now officially available for purchase, from Head-Direct.com — the same vendor as the Yuin PK-1 ear phones, V-Sonic VS02 canalphones, etc.

Here's a link to the sponsors' forum MiniBox-D thread:

Sponsors' Forum MiniBox-D thread

It is selling for $69 USD as noted at the last NYC meet. Here are 2 links to the Head-Direct pages (I just checked):

Head-Direct "Products" page
MiniBox-D at www.head-direct.com for $69 USD

The photo on the vendor's site looks exactly like the one shown in this thread , and includes the hinged, black leather-covered case, tan faux-suede, A/C charger + USD charging cable (has A/C cord + USB cable and can be charged either way).

I still have to collate my listening notes-on-post-its and write more impressions, but may not have time this weekend.

Well … back to sleep (I hope). Meanwhile, here's the photo of the product kit from the sponsors forum thread (it's now an available product, so I believe it's okay to post it):

Well for the curious which opamp does the mini-box use. My iBasso T1 uses the Max4011. Once you get so thin, how much thinner is significant? The T1 is .41 inches think. The Mini-Box is probably about .35 inches I would guess. So is that 0.06 inches going to have an impact? With the .27 inches of a Nano either one is a real nice portable package. The packaging with the Mini-Box is excellent. I like that case.
