Yes, another n00b - Page 2

Over time, you'll be able to tell differences more readily. Whether that is a good thing or not...

The DT990-'05 sounds great. It has strong bass impact and clear highs. I prefer it over the DT880-'05.

The DT880-'03 is also a great-sounding headphone. You might be able to find good deals on one. A Cardas recable improves the sound a bit.

I've only heard the A700 and A900LTD, not the A900. I thought the A900LTD sounded very good. The A700 is an excellent-value.

I think the A700 and A900LTD sound decent unamped with an iPod, but the Beyers need an amp.

Camparsion between the a900 and the a700 the two best ones IMO.

The a900 has:
Aluminium casing, better sound and stronger.

Better cable, It has a smoother coating and it's made out of a more pure copper.

And the drivers are different the a900 has a Bobbin winding OFC voice coil. Which means better quality sound for music.

But the a700 is cheaper and it's almost the same. But the sound quality is better in the a900. The size is the same and so is the comfort.
