See, HeadWize is back up! Rick, you can rest easy for now.

I don't know. These days, I spent more time on Head-Fi than HeadWize & it seems to me that you guys do the same too.

Look like Chu/ISP is working on the problem now. I wouldn't worry about it for too long, after all, I've noticed the error messages changing from time-to-time, which usually means someone is working on it.

10 minutes ago, it was a MySQL syntax error, and now it's Too many connections.. and now, it's back up. See? Told ya!

riock, i agree with you on the diy forum. back at headwize i was learning so much reading the discussions at the DIY forum. over here the posts just don't seem to be of the same quality... just a lot of stuff like making interconnects

Rick, portable DAC is NOT dead. I am just deliberating how to supply low-noise 5.5V and waiting for the delivery mess to clean up so that I can again confidently order parts from the US. I've received package I ordered last monday this monday by UPS so my faith is restored, and now I can order more parts.

I read head-fi regularly, but I mostly post in DIY and there I limit myself to Headwize. For me personally DIY forum is the heart of these sites and Headwize naturally has much longer and glorious history in DIY ares (plus it has the project library). Head-fi is more of a dedicated discussion site, with general headphone/equipment discussions, for people to talk.

I agree aos but if the forum is up and down it gets tiring.I tried to save a couple of threads today and after a couple of pages I could go no farther.I never know what to expect anymore when I hit "HeadWize",A message ? Blank screen ? I know it is not Chu's fault but it is still damn irritating

BTW-go for the shunts man,at least on the audio supply of the receiver and the DAC chip. They really do make a sound difference.

Well, I think that could be a little unfair to Chu, since Headwize is a very dear proyect for him. Perhaps a backing up and links in Head-Fi are a better alternative. Or maybe Chu should get another provider. In any case, I think Headwize should remain. But the last call about all this mater is Chu's and only Chu's.

I really feel bad for the guy.All of his time is being filled with the site and I really doubt he gets much pillow time.I can remeber when HeadWize had no forums at all, just a resource website with projects and technical papers (and am STILL amazed at the amount of headphone information consolidated into one website, kudos the Chu Moy).It is my thought, though not wanting to put words into someone elses mouth, that the reason for the forums to begin with is : with all this great info chu wanted some FEEDBACK.Just maybe he needed to know it was not all for nothing. He really does love the interaction as proven by his rapid response to all posts. The man lives and breathes HeadWize.
I really do hope it works out,but we still need a cross reference.if only for the newbies

it doesn't matter where......I'll be a headphone enthusiast regardless.

However, I am personally biased to Head-Fi's superior features, speed, and interface.

I prefer the "look" of the ORIGINAL Headwize.

And I have nothing against sponsorship.

HEADFIZE! HEADFIZE! HEADFIZE!!!

I agree on both points cool.the "original look" was to me very easy on the eyes and nothing got in the way of information, kind of like reading a good book.I find the new layout distracting for some reason. And yes, this forum is a beautiful smooth info machine.Very intuitive and easy to use with no bullsh*t in the way.
I look forward to the day when the main page has advertising (Headroom,Grado,Sennheiser,Koss,Meier Audio). Then I will KNOW it is here for the long haul

rick - u got it - when Grado comes to town to advertise, then we know sponsorship is here for the long haul.......
