Question about iPod line-out/fw adapter.

I was wondering if anyone could give me their opinions of this line out/FW adapter

http://www.sendstation.com/us/produc...ineout-fw.html

It looks really cool, but the main thing I was wondering is, would I be better off getting something from audiolineout.com?

If I got the lineout/fw adapter could i then attatch it to an amp and get the name SQ that I would get with one of the audiolineout adapters? or would I be losing quality doing it that way..

The reason I would rather do it that way is because its 1. cheaper, and 2. has a firewire port on it that my 5g iPod is lacking

This won't make your 5G iPod have firewire, as the 5G iPod lacks a firewire controller inside. It will only charge your 5G ipod with a firewire cable. You probably want this instead.

IMO, if you want to go cheap you might as well get one of these instead of an ALO. You'd have to have some pretty great equipment to make any difference noticeable. (I just ordered an ALO, but only for simplicity's sake -- don't want a dock THEN a mini-to-mini cable.)
