My Nordost Valhalla cables are better than food.

I've personally seen the Transparent Opus MM and my goodness! You really have to see them to believe how massive they are. The carbon fibre bit is huge and the wood box that they come in look more expensive than most hifi components

Yes, but do they significantly sound better then say a Nordost valhalla, costing 3300 dollars. I know good cables make a difference but 22.000 dollars is ridicules! Most even find 3300 or even a couple of 100 dollars too much for a cable!

I agree. The price tag is utterly ridiculous. The dealer was using them with a two pairs of 40.000EUR/pr mbl 101E though. It was a full mbl reference cinema system complete with monoblocks and all, so the cables only contributed to a small portion of the total system price. I didn't really get a listen because it was all too much for my brain to process

Well you have to understand that these cables aren't designed with your average consumer or even the average audiophile in mind, they are meant for those with a no holds bar system and no price limit. They're designed to be mated with the very best of components and transducers. They might not make a huge difference but if you have the cash, that extra few percent just may make it worth it.

That page is the Cheetah page, which is actually only $800 per meter. That $3600 is for a 5 meter pair.

Audioquest does make the "Sky" which is an honest $2500 a meter.

Sky does sound very good, but I would buy others at that price or below

What is $22,000 compared to the money you invest in a high end home audio system? It is all relative guys. Multi-Millionaire's could care less about spending $22,000 on a cable. Just like they could care less about spending $100,000 on a set of speakers.

To me, $100 bucks is alot of money. To a millionaire, or better yet a billionaire, $22,000 is a drop in the bucket. These are people that pay cash for just about everything including the $300,000 Bentley's they drive.

Patrick, I think there are more quotes from you floating around than any other member. That last one is my favorite!
