I think BB or CC have Infinities to audition, see if you like their house sound. If not, or if you would have to choose blindly, I would go with AV123.

Unfortunatly I live in a small town and would have to drive a couple hours to hear them. It's hard to beleive the AV123's could be better though, the Primus 360's have 2 woofers, a tweeter and midrange. How can the av123 compete with just a woofer and tweeter? And the x-series subwoofer is far less powerful and smaller too..

It's all about the implementation. Some $10k speakers come with just a tweeter and a woofer, too. The designer of the X series is known, and has designed many speaker systems both for his own company and as a hired gun for other companies that cost as much as multiple tens of thousands of dollars. The value of the x series is definitely there, especially since it's a fact that you can't buy retail the parts of the x series for its price, not to mention the time to assemble and do a good job on the finish. The cabinet is rock solid 3/4" mdf with a nice veneer. The sub is designed for use with the bookshelves. And the designer, who is quite reputable, says it has lots of impact. For most commercial speakers, it's safe to say that the parts of the speaker cost roughly 10%-20% of the speaker's price. It may be that you want more woofers, and in theory, if the design were competent, the infinity would be a better choice, but without auditioning it and knowing nothing about the designer's choices, who knows? More woofers will add efficiency and lower distortion but with a powerful enough amp, efficiency is a moot point, and lower distortion is contingent on the design of the crossover. And I can pretty much guarantee that the cabinets will not be as solid as the x-series.

At least they do not have the best price for Primus 150. You can get them from www.pricerite.com for $50 each, and $100 a pair.

Alot of sites have the inifnity speakers cheaper then Vanns, individually. But most charge heavy shipping fee's in excess of 100$. And none of them can match the Bundle discount + free shipping. The closest came in 40$ more.

Infinity is not exactly an up-start either, and iv'e never heard the speakers, but they are well reviewed, by customers and professionals alike. The 150's and 360's got pretty solid reviews at stereophile. I have not really been able to find anything negative on them. They are however, made of cheap parts, and in china. But somtimes the whole is greater then the sum of it's parts. I want this system to be loud, impactful, with good midrange performance. I want it to last for years and i'd like it to be able to fill a large room with sound, it's going in a small room now, but it may move to a larger room in the future.

I have not made up my mind yet, the AV123 system is still in the runing. My budget has gone up to about 1400$ for a 5.1 (preferably 7.1) setup and reciever + speaker wire. I also like the fact that the infinity system's fronts are floor standing, eliminating the need for 50-100$ speaker stands.

The 360 is also a full range speaker, with a 4" midrange driver, dual 6.5 inch woofers, and a 0.75mm tweeter. With a frequency range of 38 hz to 20k.

This system will be for a home theatre setup, mostly for movie watching, but also for music listening. I will be hooking up a good dac to it for 2 channel audio.

I also don't know what reciever to pair with it yet... This one looks really good for the money.

140 watts per channel...

Also if you know of another speaker set (full 5.1 minimal) that comes in at 1000$ that might be better don't hesitate to let me know!
