cable lengths?

I'm debating on recabling my KSC75's right now and I only have one main question.

Does different cable lengths affect sound quality much? I'm very used to the way earbud lengths are (been using earbuds for the last 12+ years of my life). From the mini plug, there's about 2 feet of cabling, then the split and about 10" to the left earbud and about 20" to the right earbud.

If I were to do this for the KSC75's, would I be taking a big sound quality hit on the right side? Or would the short distance not make too big of a difference?

Thanks for reading this, I appreciate it alot.

10" of cable shouldn't make an audible difference.

Just curious... Why are the earbuds different lengths from the split?

so you put the right earbud behind your neck so that the overall wire doesn't dangle.

back in high school, to hide from my teachers, i would slip the earbuds under my shirt and into my left year, then the right side would go behind my neck and sit and hand over my right shoulder inside my shirt. then i would rest my head on my left hand to cover the earbud. =T

i think you get the idea of the uneven lengths. it's just easier for me to have it this way when the right ear isn't used.
