I'm getting an extraordinarily obvious line-noise (audible beeping on my Stax rig) whenever I plug my computer adapter into the same Belkin PureAV surge protector that my Stax energizer is plugged into or even into the socket adjacent to the surge protector. I'm also using a Russ Andrews "The Silencer", which is doing absolutely nothing... The PureAV surge protector claims to clean the AC line by some dB and the Russ Andrews "The Silencer" an optimistic 70dB, but neither is working to reduce the interference. What should I do? It's extremely irritating to have to run my laptop on battery power while listening to music.
EDIT: For some reason, I don't think it's to do with my power cord. My computer just emits some weird noise when plugged into the mains. Could this be due to EM interference on the mini-RCA cable?
