You are looking at a well-cared-for pair of Piano Black Acoustic Energy AE1 monitors, with Target HS-24 speaker stands.
AE1's are one of the finest British monitors ever made. They come with 24” Target lead / sand filled stands (the lead / sand can be removed to reduce shipping costs).
With these speakers you can bi-wire -- running separate cables to both the tweeter and woofer -- or by using the factory jumpers, drive them full-range with standard speaker wire.
Speakers ship in original factory box.
PRICE
I paid $2,000 for the speakers + $215 for the stands (piano black finish was an upgrade). I’m looking for serious offers in the $700 - $575 range for the speaker / stand combo.
Note: Shipping weight is only a guess. An accurate shipping quote will be provided for serious inquiries.
I have excellent feedback at under Alwayswantmore at this link: www6.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=153697

CONDITION
I am the original owner, and I have always treated these with meticulous care. They have only been cleaned with lightly dampened old cotton T-shirts. The piano black finish still looks excellent, and the grills are in perfect condition. There are a couple of small marks on the black finish, but they are difficult to see in most lighting conditions.
The Target stands have spikes on both the bottom and top, so the bottom of the speakers do have small indents from the spikes (I use a combination of the spikes and blue-tac to stabilize and isolate the speakers from external vibrations).

“I have to say that the AE1 is one of the finest, most transparent cone speakers I have heard. Its ability to float a stable, deep, well-defined soundstage, only rivaled in the world of box loudspeakers by the Celestions SL600 and SL700, is awesome, which, coupled with its ability to play without strain, immerses the listener in the music. Less colored in the mid band than the similarly priced, similarly balanced Monitor Audio R952/MD..."

“Does the AE1 still "redefine the art of miniature speaker design"? Yes it does, I feel, as I have yet to hear a miniature that equals its balance of virtues (though the Genesis IM-5200 reviewed by TJN last October comes close in some areas). It is also the best-sounding speaker in the Acoustic Energy line.”
