The mic is for gaming on my xbox. Im trying to create the ultimate gaming setup And I thought these would be some fun cans for it. Not to mention still being able to use them for listening to music.

I just got to try my new darths out before I start burning them in and I have to say sssswwwweeeeeeet. Music already sounds good.Cant wait to see what they can do once a full burn in is done. Also, took them for a quick spin on xbox, they rocked on COD WAW. The footsteps and other audio cues were very well defined and stood out way more than my mmx300s or my tbx4s. Totaly worth the money.

Congrats! Is the mic in a good position for gaming?

The mic so did fine last nite when I tried it out. The only snag I ran into it was I couldnt get it too work through my astro miamp. Im going to try to get a standard 2.5-2.5 cable and see if it works then. The astro 2.5 cable wont ohm out. I thank it has a transister or something in the little round inline box which would cause problems for a phantom power mic. It did work fine running it through my mixer to my controller which isnt a problem because I intend to use the mixer in my final setup once I get my headzone.

Well, I just E-Mailed Larry. I chose these over the JVC's because of the balanced termination. I have 2 Blockheads to listen to with these Kanz.
I also couldn't resist the extra touches he put on these. And,....It looks as though they have been reasonably reduced since first posted.

Im glad someone finally bought those. They were probably one of my favorite designs. They were getting down to a price that I almost couldnt resist even though I had just bought a pair. Congrats, I am sure you got one of the nicest looking darths and the should sound great too.

Those are super nice looking. With 3 sets of Darths I couldn't justify it, but they sure do look nice!

Larry said last week that he would probably ship Monday (tomorrow) , with the next group that are ready to go. He's making a dual 3 pin balanced adapter to go with these (BlackGold also). I'll be able to use them single ended or balanced. These adapters will be convenient with other Kanz.

Were those deep Box Elders up and sold, or are they up and coming?

I thought some of you might be interested to hear about my new Franken-Darths. I took the 80 ohm drivers out of one of my Deep-cup Darth Beyers and put in a new pair of 600 ohm drivers (from the DT770 2005 ed.) that I ordered from Beyer. They run $106/pair. I did this because I wanted a pair of Deep-cup Darths that were a little friendlier load for my OTL tube amps.

The DT770/80 sound quite a but different from the 2005 DT770/600, so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. But I am *IN LOVE*!!!! The "new" 600-ohm Franken-Darths are the best sounding Darths I have. Everything is improved. The bass is tighter; the mids are incredibly open and transparent, and a bit more forward; and the treble is more extended and detailed.

This operation is tricky business, in that the Beyer drivers require a VERY light touch with the soldering iron, which I unfortunately discovered by ruining one of them, requiring another to be sent by Beyer. But once done - WOW.

For the more adventurous Darth Beyer owners who are also OTL tube amp owners and lovers, I recommend this!
