Does this mean that you've managed to retrieve them from your sister's grasp?

Larry is working on a pair of lacewood Darths? I'm pretty sure those aren't mine... since I haven't sent them in yet. :P

no that's an ancient picture. the Beyers are suntanning in Hollywood for all I know

I have to say I am dissapointed to say the least I was online chatting with larry to discuss wood type. I decided to go with a Cocobolo because he does not stain birdseye and I wanted it darker which is fine. I did indicate that I did not want a linear wood design but my response was this:

"On the Coco, or any wood, I use the next space on the board available that's up to my standards. You are looking for something exotic it sounds like, more like "private stock" woods. Occasionally I use those woods for "headphone deals", otherwise they are not available. The pics you see around are examples of what's available, but will vary as each board does.

I understand he is very busy but to spend 350+ on headphones I would like the option to at least choose wood grain pattern,(vertical, horizontal oval maybe to a degree of course. My only hang-up was I decided to use a stock wood was I dint want a line pattern. But I guess I will have to wait until something shows up on the deals page.

Not to gloat- but I believe that particular paduak pair is under new ownership.

Edit- whoops- I guess those weren't one of Skylab's stock, but paduak black max none the less.

You know, you can't see them when they're on your head...which the best place for them to be.

How and where did you get those leatherpads?

I emailed Beyer directly, and they pretty much told me to play in the road.

Yeah, the leather pads do not come with Darth beyers. I got these from beyer when I ordered my Manufacture Dt770's and 990's - ordered the max extra sets both times. Sure worked out well

Trose49, why worry so much about the wood? i promise you, they all look good.

My Paduak's are indeed under new ownership. I have ordered a pair of Wenge V3's to replace them

What is Wenge? and does anyone know the differences betwwn v1, v2 and now v3. Is is just the woody and recable or are there other mods?

Thanks Sky That helps. You mention your KOA (special) was that on the deal page or something? The look very figured compared to others Ive seen.

Yeah, my Koa DB's were a special order from a limited stock that Larry had at the time, which was indeed highly figured. They were something he had as a "deal".
