Monster Cable Upgrade for Klipsch PM 2.1

Before the flaming begins, I know that as a whole, I should stay away from Monster cable. However, they do make a cable set for my Klipsch PM 2.1's. Would it be worth the $30 upgrade? Or should I construct some better cables using bulk speaker cable from Canare or Cardas or Nordost?

What sort of connectors does it use/require?

The amp terminals are spring loaded clips, and the speaker connections are 3.5mm mono plugs.

Hi! I hope I can answer your question. Before selling my Klipsch system about a year ago. I too wondered if it would make a difference so I ordered a set. I didn't order it purely based on looking for a sound quality increase but I also know that any wire -- even monster will have better quality and will be more rugged, will be able to sustain more punishment from stepping over them, running them over with my desk chair once in a while etc. Well, the quality was very well done and after all the beating its been through, the cable still looks brand new. Sound quality wise, I thought I heard a pretty good difference in the midrange. The highs wern't as harsh as they used to be. But the biggest thing was: better midrange for sure. Much more smooth and prominent. Bass? Of course, no increase because the wire runs from sub to satts, not affecting the subwoofer's performance. If money isn't too much of an issue and you can lay down 30 bucks for it, then i recommend them if you're looking for much better quality then those little tiny wires they give you or a slight increase in midrange quality. Hope it helps!

I did a DIY cable back when I used to have these speakers, and it did noticeably improve the sound. Didn't do anything for the boomy bass though

What cable did you use for your recable job?
