For example, green teas in supermarkets are refined and free from strong unusual tastes.

potato..... that sounds dreadful

I make sure to get something really nice every few months at premium pricing. Otherwise, my budget stays around $12-$15 for 50 Grams.

Now see, $15 for 50g is max budget here lol. How many types of tea do you usually have at any given point?

Oh, I'd say some days perhaps six, a half dozen on others. No...really! tongue_smile.gif Most months around 6 different varieties. I share my bounty as well, so others may share in my joy. Some months, I can start out with up to 10 teas on hand. And a week later, the invisible hand of generosity will leave me with two.

I'm with you, up to $15 for casual drinking is a pretty good price point.

just found this thread. This is exciting. I'm surprised at how many hobbies hifi members have in common. I have a local place in my small town where I get most of my tea. She has a relative in Japan I think she said for her Japanese teas.

Pretty reasonable for the quality of most of her teas.

Will give them a try in coming months

A blend: 1 part Sleeping Dragon and 2 parts Gunpowder

The sleeping dragon balances out the smokiness of gunpowder

OH! And it is also good for a minimum of 3 steepings per tablespoon

That is pretty fair pricing indeed.  Curious about the quality.  May just buy a bunch of the 2 oz portions and find out.

For curiosity's sake and for tea-fi, I placed an order for $60 worth of 2 oz portions of various teas.  I didn't get any of the blended teas or the flavored ones though!
