They sound just fine...but the AD2000 be hard-going on your head after a half-hour or so. Is there any way to relax the clamps?

It's very small player, so I like it. I have Clip+ since Christmas and I'm very satisfied!

First of all let me say this is one of my favourite BA driver earphones I have ever heard. That said, being a basshead, these didn't deliver in the bass department - I can't deny the fact...

I've had this card for quite a while now, and I have to say its a really nice card - a huge step-up to my on-board motherboard's audio. At first I do have to admit, it didn't feel like the D1...

I'd like to know too. I'll try the more comfortable W5000 pads on them tonight and let you know how that goes, but I don't expect that to yield a significant enough improvement. It may be possible to gently loosen up the headbands too.

Well, I can tell you from first-hand experience how NOT to loosen the HD 650. The headband is plastic and snaps without warning when the earcups are stretched apart. The good news: with some duct tape holding the headband together, the HD 650 is no longer a head vice. Cold comfort, frankly.

Thankfully, AD2000 are (two) metal headbands from cup to cup. And they are recently sturdy. I suggest some controlled force in bending them out - and make sure the force is not applied to the the ear cups hinges.
I flexed out my AD900/W1000/W5000 just a touch and they fitted perfectly thereafter.

Thanks for the warning about potential damage. The plastic in these headphones have always seemed to me the weakest part of their constructon (aside from those "flying wings"). Amazingly, the final effect looks like Mr. Blockhead, especially the thick eyebrows:

I can't begin to imagine how long this will take.

While re-adjusting the angle of the headphones didn't help, I performed the more radical action suggested. Last night, very late, took the phones so that the pads were in the air and the wires were resting on my knee. Then, without stressing any part of the plastic, I pressed down on the wires so they were flexed in the opposite direction. It was quite hard at first, and it was scary to see those top wires being flexed so radically.
After about five minutes, there was about a one inch separation between the pads while the headphones were at rest. (Before, there was no separation.) Ear pressure is noticeably reduced; the phones now easier to use. Best of all, there's no evidence of even the slightest damage to the headphone.
I'll give them a marathon listening session tonight to see if they need adjustment.
