How's that? Did Ultrasone come out w/ something better than S-Logic plus just for the 550pro?

Actually that's rather interesting, given that HFI-580 has S-Logic Plus while Pro 550 has the regular S-Logic version. I always thought Pro 550 was a newer can than HFI-580.
I'm not exactly sure to be honest. I've just read a lot of people claiming that the S-Logic seems to work better in their PRO series than the HFI series.
Most of the HFI series have the non-Plus S-Logic.
I like the HFI 2200 a lot better than the Pro 2500.
The HFI-x50 series anyway. ALL of the HFI-x80 series do have S-Logic Plus.
What would be a good amp for an Ultrasone? I'm currently running my PRO2900s off of a Xonar Essence but I'd like to get a proper amp for them. I don't want to change the sound too much, I'm looking for something that won't boost the highs, with some songs they are a little too bright as is, I need something under $400 as well. Anyone have any ideas?
apparently the matrix m stage tones down

Yeah, that's the main amp I have been looking at, but I'm a bit curious of the tube amp sound. I listen to a lot of metal, mainly black, drone, and folk; and I was wondering if the more forgiving nature of tubes would help. I've also heard SS amps struggle when you have really long bass notes, I doubt its true, but I don't want to end up with an amp that can't play certain songs.
maybe a hybrid is what your thinking?
or get yourself a wooaudio 3
Maybe, the Woo is out of my budget and I think I saw somewhere that it doesn't have enough power for Ultrasones.
perhaps you should consider this:

ordering/technical info here:

this is what i currently use for my hfi-780 - but i am not so enamored with the supplied tube - preferring my valvo e188cc or some of my amperex 6dj8's.
you can choose either diy or buy it assembled. great little amp that will surprise u ... great seller too.
I've already decided that I'm either getting the Little Dot MK V or the Mstage, I don't really want a warmer sound, so I'm sticking with SS.
The M-Stage is slightly warm, but I don't think the LDMKV is as good as the M-Stage. There's also the KICAS (non-Caliente) or the Gilmore Lite if you want a neutral amp.
Still loving HFI-2400 here. Loads of fun. It has improved even more with the DAC19 I just picked up.
Thanks, the KICAS sounds like it might be just what I've been looking for, adding it to my list right now, from the last posts in the KICAS thread it doesn't appear to matter which version you get as there is a jumper to switch between them, I'm not sure about the Gilmore though. Do you have any idea where I could track down a KICAS?
